When creating The Dugout Club we set some pretty lofty goals for ourselves. In addition to supporting local teams and individuals when it came to registration, equipment, training and access to facilities, we also wanted to help by giving back to the parts of our community that need it the most.
The KidSport Organization has been doing just that in our communities for the past 20 years, with 177 Community Chapters, and over 4000 volunteers from coast to coast.
In the coming months, we hope to find ways and encourage others to help the KidSport Richmond Chapter as they give local children in need the opportunity to play and enjoy the benefits of sport.. (One item to come to mind – as they asked publicly for “Hockey Tickets” recently – is to give them a pair of Canucks – Coyotes tickets in PHOENIX, AZ to include Airfare and Accomodation at the presently being built TOSCANA VACATION RESORTS…..Stay tuned on that as it needs to go to TDC Directors!!)
On that, as I know many of you aspire to give back as well, coming up on Thursday, March 6th 2014 at 6:00 PM is the KidSport Fundraising Dinner. Tickets are still available and can be bought at this website. All of us at TDC and KidSport hope you will consider those most in need this holiday season and consider how much holiday spirit can be gained from giving to those outside of your immediate family as well. The dinner will feature Silent Auctions, Event Sponsorship opportunities, and will be emceed by CTV’s Perry Solkowski.
